Sandy Uhrich is a multi-disciplinary artist and activist currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Through mixed media, photography, video, and printmaking, Uhrich’s work combines imagery from found materials like vintage gay porn and printed matter with original designs and images. Utilizing various techniques, Uhrich blends graphic elements with layers of distortion (via Xerox and halftones), resulting in compositions that are both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Utilizing analogue and digital processes, Uhrich endeavors to capture the irreverence and chaotic nature of our world. They were born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, and received their undergraduate education at CalArts and received their BFA in photography from San Francisco Art Institute.
