SHE WHO TAKETH AWAY: Special Collab w/ Nia Lovemore
We have been fan’s of Nia’s artwork for some time now, and are THRILLED to bring this new collaboration to life! Nia’s illustrations are so rich, incredibly deep, textural worlds that jump off the medium.
For this project, we wanted to send Nia’s drawing through the “ODDITIES FILTER”. We’ve applied the techniques of a classic analog printshop to her work, leaning into comic-book-style halftones, discharge ink, and a more than classic creamy white on black approach.
Both shirt styles are printed with discharge inks. Discharge inks remove the shirt’s black dye, replacing with a warm-white, feel-less pigment. there’s no crackl-y or thick ink feel on these at all… Nia’s art is part of the fabric itself!
LONG SLEEVE TEES: We used the best, garment-washed shirts by Comfort Colors. Print is BIG on the front, belt-to-collar. Thsi shirt has a roomy to regular fit and is completely pre-shrunk.
BABY RIB CROP TOPS: These blanks are made in USA by Los Angeles Apparel. An everyday baby tee with a mid-length cropped fit, full length sleeves and a thick binding collar. Their combed cotton baby rib is made of soft 30 singles yarn and stretches up to 2 times its original size. This 100% cotton style shrinks 7% in the wash and this style has been designed to fit before and after wash.
